Yunzii B75 Pro Max Mechanical Keyboard Overview

I recently had the opportunity to test out the Yunzii B75 Pro Max mechanical keyboard. Keep in mind that Yunzii did send me this keyboard to try out at no cost, but based on my collaboration terms. That means they have no say in any of the content I produce and are not allowed to preview anything.

Unboxing and Included Accessories

You have the keyboard itself and a mix of accessories. The box includes a USB Type-C to Type-A cable, a combination keycap and switch puller, a 2.4 GHz wireless dongle, extra keycaps, a quick information card, and an instruction manual.

The extra keycaps are useful if you want to swap out the default keys for Mac specific command keys or other alternatives (Pause, Home, Insert, Print, Option). The keys have a nice double shot design to them, and they are fully swappable for a different set.

Keyboard Layout and Size Comparisons

The B75 Pro Max features a 75% layout. This means it does not have a full number pad on the right side, which I am personally not a big fan of anyway. It keeps a much more compact footprint on your desk while retaining the keys you actually need for everyday use.

A 75% mechanical keyboard is a compact layout that retains about 75% of the keys found on a standard full sized keyboard. It saves desk space by eliminating the number pad, but it still keeps essential keys like the alphanumeric section, a dedicated function row, and arrow keys. This strikes a great balance between a smaller footprint and daily usability.

When comparing the B75 Pro Max to a smaller 65% keyboard I have on hand, you can see the difference isn't huge. However, the B75 retains the dedicated row of function keys at the top. This is incredibly nice to have after not having it for years on that Novelkeys keyboard. On a 65% board, you are forced to use a function button combination with the numbers to trigger F-keys, which can get a little irritating over time.

Typing Experience and Switch Customization

This specific keyboard was equipped with Yunzii's Milk Version 2 linear switches. They are marketed as being their quietest option from what was available pre-installed into this specific keyboard. From my testing, if you type very lightly and avoid hitting the end point (also called bottoming out), they are very quiet. However, depending on how hard you hit the keys, they can still make quite a noticeable thunk sound. I think for most people they will be pretty noticeable. 


What is a Linear Switch?

In the mechanical keyboard world, a linear switch is designed to provide a smooth, consistent downward keystroke without any physical tactile bump or audible click at the actuation point. This predictable, uninterrupted motion makes them popular for fast typing and gaming, often resulting in a quieter experience compared to tactile or clicky alternatives.

The keyboard PCB is fully hot-swappable, meaning you can pull the switches out and replace them without any soldering. Looking closely at the bottom of the Milk V2 switch, you can see it has side posts for better stability when seated in the board. So that makes it a 5-pin switch.

Overall, the typing experience feels very sturdy. I noticed right away that the larger keys, specifically the spacebar, feel well stabilized compared to most other keyboards I've used (which isn't a ton).

The Built-In Screen and Volume Knob

One of the standout features of this keyboard is the small screen and rotary knob positioned in the top right corner. The knob has a nice clicky feel to it as you rotate, and it functions as a button when you press it down. By default, it automatically adjusts your computer's system volume.

By default the screen displays information like your current connection mode, battery level, the date, and a clock. By using a quick shortcut of the Function key and the number 0 or 9, you can switch the screen to display a custom image or an animated GIF.

To get custom images onto the board, you have to use Yunzii's specific software tool on your computer. You just upload the file and let it sync to the keyboard. I noticed that a 104-kilobyte GIF took quite a while to upload, likely because the keyboard has to process and split the file into frames, but once it is finished, it looks good.

Connectivity: Wired, Wireless, and Bluetooth

You have three different methods for connecting the B75 Pro Max to your computer. There is a simple toggle switch on the back edge of the keyboard that lets you choose between a wired USB-C connection, a 2.4 GHz wireless connection, and Bluetooth.

For wireless use, it has a built-in 4,000 mAh battery inside. The 2.4 GHz mode uses the included USB dongle and is incredibly simple to set up: just plug the dongle in, flip the switch, and it likely just works.

Bluetooth is generally a bit more difficult to get working. At first, my computer was not seeing the keyboard, but a quick look at the manual sorted it out to get the keyboard into BT connection mode. 

To properly enter Bluetooth pairing mode, you must long-press the Function key along with the 1, 2, or 3 keys to open up the channel. Once I did that, it connected quickly to my Windows 11 machine that was in pairing mode. Overall, my recommendation is to use the 2.4 GHz dongle for the easiest and most consistent wireless connection. 


VIA Software and RGB Lighting

For users that want customization, the B75 Pro Max is fully compatible with the well known VIA software. You do need to have the keyboard connected via the wired USB-C cable to utilize this. Once connected and you have loaded the correct JSON file from Yunzii's website, you can change key mappings, set up macros, and fully dial in your RGB lighting.

Take not that a default setting called "Show Design tab" in VIA needs to be disabled before you can load the JSON file. 

If you don't want to use the software, you can still control the RGB lighting directly from the board. Using the Function key combined with various keys like Backspace, Backslash, and the arrow keys, you can cycle through the RGB modes, adjust the brightness, and change the speed of each mode. Build Quality and Final Thoughts

On the underside of the keyboard, there are two different levels of adjustable feet, allowing you to easily change the typing angle. Both the feet and the base of the keyboard feature soft silicone pads.

Between the three modes of connectivity, the fun customizable screen, the hot-swappable switches, and the robust VIA software support, the Yunzii B75 Pro Max is a pretty well-rounded package.

Today I'm taking a look at this 128GB SanDisk Ultra USB 3.0 flash drive. To see how it performs, I will be comparing it to a bunch of older drives that I have on-hand. The SanDisk Ultra USB 3.0 128GB flash drive in its retail packaging. Unboxing and First Impressions This is a USB 3.0 compatible drive. One negative of this package is you're going to have to cut it open with scissors. If you do, be careful not to cut too far down and damage the slip for the RescuePRO software offer inside.
